BMYAA Returns to Bring Back Baseball, Softball & More to Blackstone and Millville

This story is part of our Youth Sports Spotlight series, where we highlight the amazing work being done by local leagues and volunteers. From soccer fields to ballparks, we’re sharing the stories that show what happens when a community comes together to support its youth.

A Comeback Story Fueled by Community

In 2024, a group of dedicated parents and community members came together to bring youth baseball and softball back to Blackstone and Millville. That effort led to the return of the Blackstone Millville Youth Athletic Association (BMYAA)—a volunteer-run organization that’s now helping kids and families reconnect with local sports.

After a pause in youth programming, BMYAA stepped up in a big way, restoring something many thought was lost. And the best part? It’s not just for Blackstone and Millville families—BMYAA welcomes kids from nearby communities, too. Just reach out!

Programs for All Ages (and Adults!)

BMYAA offers a wide range of programs for youth and adults alike:

  • T-ball for ages 3 and up
  • Youth Baseball
  • Youth Softball
  • Women’s Softball

Whether your child is picking up a glove for the first time or you’re an adult looking to get back on the field, BMYAA is creating space for everyone to play and grow.

Their rallying cry says it all:

“Let’s get Baseball, Softball and T-ball back in town!”

Built on Teamwork—On and Off the Field

BMYAA is more than just a sports league—it’s a grassroots community effort. Everything from scheduling practices to lining fields is handled by volunteers. Parents serve as coaches, team parents, event organizers, and fundraisers. The whole community is coming together to make this work.

Last year, the group even held fundraisers at local favorites like Goodstuff Smokehouse to help cover startup costs and support future programs — highlighting the kind of hometown partnership that keeps local youth sports thriving.

How to Get Involved

Whether you’re a parent, coach, player, or community member, there’s a place for you at BMYAA:

  • Register your child for the season
  • Volunteer your time as a coach or helper
  • Sponsor a team or donate to help the league grow
  • Join the league for a fun way to stay active

Stay updated by following BMYAA on Facebook or email BMYathleticassociation@gmail.com to get involved.

A Field of Possibilities

From laughter in the dugout to home runs under the lights, BMYAA is proving that small towns can do big things when people come together. Here’s to another season of teamwork, community, and hometown pride.

We reached out to BMYAA for more info about their future plans and vision, and we hope to share more in a future spotlight. In the meantime, we’re celebrating the incredible energy they’ve brought back to our local ballfields.
