Support Local Arts—Apply for Blackstone Cultural Council Grants by Oct. 16

Apply Now: Blackstone Cultural Council Grants Open Until Oct. 16

If you’ve ever dreamed of bringing more creativity, connection, or culture to Blackstone, here’s your chance. The Blackstone Cultural Council Grants are now open — but the deadline to apply is Thursday, October 16.

These grants are part of the Massachusetts Cultural Council’s Local Cultural Council (LCC) Program, which supports arts, humanities, and interpretive science projects that directly benefit the community. Whether you’re an artist, educator, musician, or local group, your project could qualify for funding that helps make your idea a reality.

What the Grants Support

The Blackstone Cultural Council Grants are designed to fund creative, educational, and cultural activities that make a difference locally. Projects may include:

  • Art exhibits or live performances
  • Historical and cultural presentations
  • Community concerts or festivals
  • Public art installations
  • Educational programs for children or adults

Funding is available to individuals, schools, and organizations — anyone with a project that enriches life in Blackstone.

What’s Been Funded in the Past

In previous years, Blackstone Cultural Council Grants have supported a wide range of community favorites, including:

  • Blackstone Public Library programs, such as art workshops, escape rooms, and author talks
  • Activities and performances at the Blackstone Senior Center
  • Daniels Farmstead Foundation’s Summer Music Series
  • Performances by the Blackstone Valley Community Concert Band

These projects highlight how local grants can inspire creativity, preserve history, and bring people together.

How to Apply

Applying is quick and fully online through the Mass Cultural Council website.

Steps to Apply:

  1. Visit the Blackstone Cultural Council page.
  2. Review the official LCC Program Guidelines (PDF).
  3. Complete and submit your application before October 16.

Tip: Be clear about how your project will serve Blackstone residents and promote community engagement through arts, culture, or education.
