Amazon Prime Day: Local Donation Ideas to Give Back While You Shop
Amazon Prime Day Local Donations: Give Back While You Shop on July 8–11
Big deals meet small-town generosity
Amazon Prime Day is back from July 8 through 11, offering big deals for online shoppers—but it’s also a great time to support local causes while you fill your cart. Several local groups and drives are sharing Amazon Wish Lists or collecting needed items, so if you’re already planning to shop, consider adding a few things that give back right here in our community.

Want to Donate a Prize? Support Local Challenges Too!
Prime Day can also be a good time to grab fun, motivational prizes—and if you’re feeling generous, you might consider donating some to local groups. For example, Blackstone Parks and Recreation runs the Blackstone Bike Challenge, encouraging adults and kids to ride all summer long. They’re always appreciative of small prize donations to help celebrate participants’ achievements.

Shop Smart: A Quick Word of Caution
While Prime Day is a great time to save and give, it’s also important to stay alert. Scammers often take advantage of big sales events, and deals that look too good to be true sometimes are.
Quick tips to stay safe:
- Watch for fake emails and texts claiming to be from Amazon. Don’t click suspicious links—go directly to Amazon’s website or app instead
- Check price history before buying. Some “deals” may be based on inflated list prices
- Stick to trusted sellers and read recent reviews when possible
Shopping responsibly means protecting your wallet and making sure your generosity goes where it’s needed.
Small Purchases, Big Impact.
Prime Day might be about scoring deals—but it can also be about sharing kindness. Whether you’re donating a bottle of shampoo, a pack of pudding cups, or a prize for a summer bike ride, your contribution matters.
Shop with purpose. Give where you live.
