Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Collection Coming to Blackstone

Blackstone Approves Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Drop-Off Events for Summer 2025
Two important waste disposal events are coming to Blackstone this summer. At its May 22 meeting, the Blackstone Board of Health approved plans for:
- A Tri-Town Electronics Drop-Off Day on June 28, 2025
- A Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Day on August 9, 2025
These events will give residents a safe, easy way to dispose of hard-to-get-rid-of items. The Board of Health is excited to bring these services back to the community after several years without them.
♻️ Tri-Town Electronics Drop-Off – June 28, 2025
Blackstone will join Mendon and Upton for a Tri-Town Electronics Disposal Day on Saturday, June 28, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Miscoe Hill School.
Residents can drop off:
- TVs and monitors
- Computer parts and accessories
- Consumer electronics and small devices
This is a great opportunity to clear out old electronics that can’t go in the trash.
🧪 Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off – August 9, 2025
On Saturday, August 9, 2025, Clean Harbors will host a Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection Day in Blackstone.
Based on past Clean Harbors events, accepted items have included:
- Electronic waste: TVs, monitors, and devices
- Pharmaceutical waste: Expired medications and personal care products
- Mercury waste: Thermometers, thermostats, lamps, and switches
- Recyclable hazardous waste: Batteries, motor oil, antifreeze, and paint
Clean Harbors specializes in organizing these events and safely handling hazardous materials. This helps protect the environment while making it easier for residents to dispose of dangerous items.
🏡 Why It Matters
Blackstone has not hosted these kinds of events in recent years. The Board of Health hopes these services will benefit residents and encourage responsible waste disposal.
More details and official flyers will be shared as the dates get closer. The events will also be shared with the Board of Selectmen and promoted through community channels.
Stay tuned to Small Town Post and the Town of Blackstone’s website or social media for updates on both events.
