Help Local Students: School Supply Drive Underway

A local school supply drive is underway this July to help students in the Blackstone-Millville Regional School District start the school year with everything they need. Organized by the St. Vincent de Paul Societies of Divine Mercy Parish, the annual School Supply Drive collects essential school supplies to support families in our community.
Donations are being accepted throughout the month of July at Divine Mercy Parish, located at 48 St. Paul Street in Blackstone. In early August, the Blackstone branch of UniBank will begin collecting donations as well. All supplies will go directly to benefit students in the Blackstone-Millville schools.
What to Donate
New, unused school supplies only:
- Backpacks
- Binders, notebooks, folders, lined paper
- Pencils (regular and colored), pens, erasers, highlighters
- Crayons, markers, glue sticks, scissors, rulers
- Pencil cases and pouches
Collection bins are located at the rear of Divine Mercy Parish. In early August, the donation site will shift to UniBank’s branch on Cheney Street in Blackstone.
Why It Matters
The school supply drive helps ensure that all students in Blackstone and Millville can start the year prepared. The St. Vincent de Paul Societies work quietly throughout the year to support local families with food, rent, utility assistance, and more. This effort is one more way they serve the needs of the community.
With Amazon Prime Day running July 8 to 11, it’s a great time to keep this drive in mind while shopping. Even picking up a few extras—backpacks, pencils, notebooks—can go a long way.
