Unlock Summer Fun: Blackstone Public Library’s Reading Program Sign Up Begins!

Read, Play, Explore: Blackstone Library Summer Programs for Kids, Teens & Adults
Get ready to level up your summer, Blackstone! The highly anticipated annual Summer Reading Program at the Blackstone Public Library kicks off its registration starting Monday, June 9th! This cherished town tradition offers incredible opportunities for kids, teens, and adults to dive into reading, enjoy fantastic events, and make lasting summer memories.
Our amazing Blackstone Public Library is more than just books – it’s a vibrant hub for learning, creativity, and connection. This summer, they’ve outdone themselves with programs designed to engage every member of our community, from our youngest readers to their parents and grandparents.
This year’s theme is “Level Up at Your Library.” It’s all about the power of play—one of the ways we learn to relate to others, think creatively, and build new friendships. iREAD’s 2025 theme reminds us that libraries aren’t just spaces for knowledge—they’re spaces for fun.
A Community Favorite: Blackstone Library Summer Reading for Every Generation
The Blackstone Public Library’s Summer Reading Program isn’t just about books; it’s about fostering a love of reading, engaging minds, and building community through a diverse array of activities. It’s a testament to the library’s commitment to lifelong learning and entertainment, creating memorable summer experiences for everyone.
How the Program Works:
Participants in all age groups are encouraged to log their reading progress. And great news for all readers: you can log both traditional books and audiobooks! For the children’s program, weekly progress is checked in at the library. To receive their well-deserved weekly prize, young readers must visit the library in person with their reading logs. Reading logs for the children’s program can start on Monday, June 23rd, with the first check-in on Friday, June 27th. If you’re going on vacation and can’t get to the library, you can get two stamps on your logs the following week, or ask for four stamps at once.
For Young Adults, participants will keep track of how many pages they’ve read on their logs. You may check in once per week, and check-ins begin on Friday, June 27th. You must check in at least 3 times to be eligible for end-of-summer prizes and the finale.
Most programs and activities offered throughout the summer require advance registration, unless specifically noted as a drop-in event. If you sign up for an event and can’t attend, please email or call the library. Please note: most, if not all, summer events have waiting lists, and if you are a no-call, no-show twice, you will be removed from other events you’ve signed up for. To qualify for the exciting finales and end-of-program celebrations, a minimum number of check-ins or reading milestones are usually required.
